watching my pictures as a theatrical performance: the different forms are actors. It invents its own need to create a drama group, which is able, without restraint and without shame, to move freely. Neither the shares nor the individual roles are not scheduled before the end. Art takes place as the unknown adventure in an unfamiliar room yet. Only when it is finished, I recognize, whether the cast and the game meets my expectations. My initial ideas and plans after the fact turn out to be as open doors, through which left the world from which they originated. (Mark Rothko, 1947-1948)

New York 60/70 years of the twentieth century - when he celebrated the triumphs of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, a time for fun, colorful head spin - the world reluctantly fell on his knees, and yet the images evoked strong feelings Rothka , admiration, fear. It is this artist and the first place came to my mind when I saw pictures of Joanna Wac. Today in a world that is full of pomp and race for all the work, money love, sometimes no moments when you can stop and just look and feel the art.

artist's exhibition at the White Gallery in Lublin, which has its opening took place on February 11, presented a series of paintings "The United recollection." The room where the paintings hung, it is shabby, dirty bunker, which has stairs, the entrance to the viewer moves going into a slightly pretentious gloom to an entirely different place, in an unfamiliar area. One gets the impression that we are in one of the 70 galleries in New York, a place that today is a mecca for artists, but not only. Looking at pictures of Joanna Wac come to mind New York City school officials (apart from Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman) - abstract expressionism, art style that evolved after World War II. He no longer sought to present his vision of mental image, an object of art is painting itself as a transaction. Color is the most important element of work, the artists of this trend that they wanted the viewer captivated psychology of color. It is also evident in the work of Joanna Wac, the theme of the exhibition are the states of aggregation - liquid, gas and solid. The artist in his images moves from one state to another. Images quiet, yet full of emotion, which after all are the main source of any incentives received by our senses: the warmth of the sun, wind, sound of music, touching something. Cold painted in pastel colors. The viewer certainly will not go near them indifferent.

As with the New York School of artists with her color and attempt to trigger emotions play a central role. It was worth it to see this exhibition, first due to the same place where it was made and destroyed the bunker, which only showed stronger images and allowed the states of feeling alone. Well, we have also such artists on the Polish art market.
